A talented Pokemon enthusiast has dedicated time and effort to create an endearing new rendition of Chikorita, taking inspiration from chocolate to craft a charming pocket monster named Chokorita. This unique concept has recently gained attention online, showcasing the remarkable creativity within the Pokemon fan community.
In the realm of fan art dedicated to this beloved franchise, Pokemon redesigns consistently stand out as some of the most popular endeavors. This trend is evident through the continuous emergence of countless reinterpretations circulating online. Amidst the community of artists contributing to such projects, MunchyColors stands out as particularly prolific. Over the past year alone, this 2D artist has crafted more than a hundred distinct redesigns of various creatures, featuring vibrant interpretations of Pokemon like Teddiursa and irresistibly cute versions of the ice cream-themed Pokemon, Vanillite.
Shortly after creating Halloween-themed versions for the Kanto starters, MunchyColors directed his artistic talent towards reenvisioning the Generation 2 starter, Chikorita. The outcome of this imaginative endeavor resulted in an unbelievably adorable creature that appears to have been immersed in liquid candy. It showcases a body with a biscuit-like hue, adorned with chocolate dripping from the leaf atop its head. In contrast to the original Johto region starter, which sports small flower buds around its neck, this inventive redesign features a necklace crafted from tiny strawberries, enhancing the delightful concept that served as its inspiration.

MunchyColors aptly named his Chikorita reinterpretation “Chokorita,” a deliberate choice to encapsulate the essence of this newly revealed redesign. The artwork itself showcases all the distinctive features of the prolific artist’s signature style, characterized by a vibrant color palette and a generous application of the silver ratio (1:414), commonly employed to create charming, round faces. Sharing his creation on Reddit, MunchyColors referred to his latest Pokemon concept as a “desert-type” Chikorita, whether alluding to the creature’s light brown, almost sand-like body color or perhaps unintentionally implying “dessert.”
This wasn’t the artist’s inaugural endeavor in transforming beloved Pokemon into mouthwatering delights. Just recently, MunchyColors took to Instagram to unveil a Mudkip concept, envisioning the Generation 3 starter as a hot cocoa-inspired creature. Additionally, the artist shared an equally appetizing Wooloo with a Christmas cream texture shortly before that.
