During the kickoff of the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Nvidia officially revealed the pricing and specifications for the upcoming GeForce RTX 40 Super Series graphics cards, consisting of three models. Priced starting at $599, Nvidia‘s latest hardware aims to deliver enhanced performance to PC gamers while simultaneously reducing power consumption.
Initially rumored in late 2023, the RTX 40 Super Series GPUs are set to be released throughout January, featuring three editions for consumers to select from: the RTX 4070 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, and RTX 4080 Super. These new GPUs will be compatible with Nvidia‘s DLSS upscaling technology and will offer improved AI task support. While the RTX 4070 Super and RTX 4070 will coexist in Nvidia‘s current lineup, the RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4080 Super will supersede their non-Super counterparts. It remains to be seen whether Nvidia or its partners will pursue a price reduction to clear out the remaining inventory of RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080 GPUs.
During the CES Keynote on January 8, 2024, Nvidia showcased the highly anticipated GeForce RTX 40 Super Series GPUs, confirming weeks of speculation. Nvidia disclosed that the RTX 4070 Super will hit the market with a starting price of $599 on January 17, featuring a 20% increase in CUDA cores compared to the current RTX 4070 and a total power draw of 220W. The company asserted that the RTX 4070 Super would outperform the previous-generation RTX 3090 while consuming significantly less power.
Priced at $799, the RTX 4070 Ti Super will surpass the RTX 4070 Ti, offering enhancements in both available VRAM and memory bandwidth. The RTX 4070 Ti Super will boast 16GB of GDDR6X memory and share the same 256-bit memory bus as the RTX 4080 and 4090 models. It is set to be available for purchase starting on January 24.
