Square Enix has unveiled a fresh trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, spotlighting the intense battle against the Terror of the Deep boss and featuring other noteworthy moments from the upcoming game. This promotional video comes hot on the heels of the recently premiered Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth trailer at The Game Awards.

As the second installment in Square Enix’s trilogy of Final Fantasy 7 remakes, FF7 Rebirth is poised to follow the timed exclusivity pattern, initially launching on PlayStation before later expanding to PC. The PS5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is slated for release on February 29.

Today, Square Enix released the fourth trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, titled “Destined for Rebirth.” Clocking in at one minute, the video provides tantalizing glimpses into the main story elements of the upcoming game, predominantly focusing on the ongoing battle between Cloud and his allies against Sephiroth. Additionally, the trailer offers brief snippets of the intense encounter with the notorious boss, Terror of the Deep. Devotees of the 1997 classic will readily identify this formidable creature as Bottomswell, a familiar adversary from the original Final Fantasy 7.

The latest trailer reveals several new additions to the creature roster, offering glimpses of Midgar Zolom, the enigmatic serpent occasionally known as Midgardsormr in the series’ lore. Additionally, the video delves into more story elements from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, touching upon the Nibelheim Incident and the Junon ceremony. Alongside the trailer, Square Enix has shared over a dozen new high-definition screenshots, some of which revisit moments from the trailer, while others provide close-up views of various characters, such as Elena and Yuffie Kisaragi.

The latest set of images also offers a fresh perspective on the Junon region, showcasing scenes of the Shinra-8 ship under the command of Captain Titov. This vessel plays a crucial role in facilitating travel between Junon and Costa Del Sol for the party. Square Enix has included a glimpse of Cait Sith riding its distinctive Moogle steed in one of the final screenshots, set against the backdrop of Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth—a unique amusement park situated in the remnants of Old Corel.

Considering the timing of the recently unveiled video and Square Enix’s historical release patterns, it seems likely that “Destined for Rebirth” could serve as the penultimate trailer for the game. Moving forward, fans may not anticipate many more glimpses of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with the expectation being the eventual release trailer leading up to the game’s launch.
