Speculation: Suicide Squad DLC Will Return To a Famous Location

According to a trustworthy source, there’s a possibility that the downloadable content (DLC) for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League might transport players back to the crime-infested streets of Gotham City. In Rocksteady’s upcoming superhero action game, the focus shifts from the Batman mythos to follow the titular Task Force X on a dark and perilous mission to eliminate the Justice League, who have been mind-controlled by Brainiac. This dangerous mission will lead the Suicide Squad crew to Metropolis, Superman’s renowned turf, where they will collaborate with a mix of both old and new villains to navigate the challenges posed by Earth’s former protectors.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League appears to be rich in captivating content, featuring four playable characters, including Harley Quinn, a new iteration of Deadshot, and the Arkhamverse debuts of King Shark and Captain Boomerang. Recent leaks have hinted at potential post-launch DLC for Suicide Squad, introducing additional characters like Killer Croc, Killer Frost, Peacemaker, and an unnamed clown villain, speculated to be a resurrected Joker.

Even if the Clown Prince of Crime doesn’t make a comeback in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, players might find themselves returning to his hometown of Gotham City. Miller Ross, also known as mmmmmmmmiller, the leaker who previously shared rumors about Suicide Squad DLC, recently responded to a fan’s question on Twitter about which piece of post-launch content players would be most excited to purchase. Ross replied, “I stress: Season 3. That’ll take us through Halloween and Black Friday. […] Lots of Arkham nostalgia. Cameos. You literally go to Gotham. It’ll be a significant moment for the game, post-launch.”

Ross also asserts that Rocksteady will follow up this Gotham-focused DLC with a playable Deathstroke in Season 4, supporting his earlier statements about the notorious assassin being introduced to Suicide Squad after its release. He mentions that Slade Wilson’s DLC story campaign will continue from the post-credits scene in WB Montreal’s Batman: Arkham Origins, depicting him being recruited by Amanda Waller for Task Force X. While supplementary material delved into Slade’s brief time in the Suicide Squad, this narrative thread went unaddressed in 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight, where Deathstroke is portrayed as working for Scarecrow and the titular Arkham Knight as a field leader for their militia army.

Prior to that, Ross mentions that the post-launch content for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will involve revisiting Gotham City, although the specific details remain unclear at this point. Batman, confirmed as one of Task Force X’s targets, is already set to appear, and his reveal trailer suggests players will confront him in the shadowy corridors of Arkham Asylum. If Ross’s recent assertions prove accurate, fans can expect to explore more of Gotham following the release of Suicide Squad on February 2, with the rumored Season 3 DLC anticipated to arrive between Halloween and Black Friday.
