Scheduled for release later this year, a new tabletop game set in the Halo universe is on the horizon. While details about the next video game installment in the series remain undisclosed, the forthcoming tabletop experience promises a fresh and captivating way for fans to immerse themselves in the Halo universe.

Halo Infinite, the most recent game release in November 2021, faced a turbulent launch marked by player dissatisfaction due to the game’s condition and the absence of a campaign, a long-standing hallmark of the franchise. Despite these initial challenges, ongoing updates have maintained a robust player base, even in the absence of a single-player campaign. Although an official announcement regarding the next video game in the series is yet to be made, enthusiasts can anticipate the tabletop game as a notable addition to the Halo experience this year.

A collaboration between 343 Industries and Mantic Games has resulted in the development of a tabletop Halo game featuring miniatures. While the project remains without an official title, Mantic and 343 have provided insights into this upcoming Halo gaming experience. Currently confirmed for inclusion in the game are miniature Spartans, with the potential incorporation of additional elements such as vehicles and Covenant races yet to be confirmed. Previews for the game are set to commence in March, with the full release anticipated in September.

Mantic seems confident in what they have to show. In a press release, Mantic Games CEO Ronnie Renton went on record, claiming that he is very happy with the game and that he anticipates it being a lot of fun for fans.

“We have a thrilling and competitive game from a passionate team of talented sculptors, artists, and designers who have been building an incredible Halo experience.”

Halo has previously ventured into the realm of tabletop gaming with the release of Halo ActionClix in 2007. This iteration featured intense battles between Spartans, UNSC forces, and a variety of vehicles and aliens, including formidable foes like Hunters. Unfortunately, the enthusiasm surrounding Halo ActionClix was short-lived, as it was discontinued in 2008, merely a year after its initial launch.
